Methodology
How we test and score every casino
Every score on this site comes from the same five published criteria, weighted the same way, applied to every operator, even the ones that pay us nothing. This page is the whole method, stated plainly enough to be held against.
1 · Payout speed & reliability
30%We compile withdrawal completion times per payment method from operator processing terms and aggregated, verifiable player reports across the Canadian market, normalized to minutes in our payout index. Repeated KYC requests, cancelled withdrawals and low weekly caps all reduce the score. First-withdrawal verification delays are tracked separately and excluded from medians.
2 · Game library & providers
25%Unique titles rather than raw counts, so lobbies padded with reskins score poorly. We weigh provider quality, live-dealer depth, and whether the operator serves default RTP configurations of benchmark slots or quietly licenses lower ones.
3 · Real bonus value
20%Expected value after wagering, game weighting, maximum cash-out and expiry, which is the number our calculator produces. Headline size is worth nothing here: a C$50 offer at 15× outranks a C$1,000 offer at 60×.
4 · Support responsiveness
15%Channel availability (24/7 chat, phone, email), reported response quality across review platforms, and how operators handle withdrawal disputes in the public record. Phone support earns extra credit because almost nobody offers it.
5 · Licensing & player safety
10%Licences verified directly against the issuing register (iGaming Ontario, MGA, Kahnawake, Curaçao GCB). Deposit limits, session reminders and self-exclusion must be present and findable. Regulator enforcement history (fines, warnings) is disclosed in our reviews, not hidden.
Automatic disqualification
- Refusing or indefinitely delaying a legitimate withdrawal
- Bonus terms that are mathematically impossible to clear
- No verifiable licence in any jurisdiction
- Advertising to self-excluded or underage users
- Changing terms retroactively on an active bonus
Operators that fail these tests never appear in a ranking. 2 currently sit on our casinos to avoid page, named, with reasons.
How we make money
We are paid a commission when a reader opens an account through one of our links. Commercial terms differ between operators, so to remove the temptation, rankings are generated from the scoring model above. The order is what the numbers produce, and operators cannot buy a position in it. Every review states its last-checked date, and if we get something wrong, tell us and we will correct it publicly.
Data sources
Licence status comes from the issuing registers (iGaming Ontario's operator list, the MGA and Kahnawake registers). Offer terms come from operators' own published terms pages. Payout times come from operator processing terms cross-checked against aggregated player reports on major review platforms. Reputation signals draw on Trustpilot, AskGamblers and Casino.Guru, cited in reviews where they materially affect a score. The full payout dataset is public on our payout speed index.
